✅ Start packing non-essential items early

✅ Arrange for homeowners' insurance coverage to begin at your new address

✅ Safeguard important documents: birth certificates, financial/legal files, medical records

✅ Declutter: donate, sell, or recycle anything you don’t want to bring with you

✅ Pack an essentials bag for move-in day (toiletries, chargers, meds, change of clothes)

✅ Measure furniture and pre-plan room layouts

✅ Defrost and clean out your refrigerator

✅ Deep clean your current home or schedule a cleaning service

✅ Review your change-of-address checklist: banks, subscriptions, Amazon, etc.

✅ Clean your new home before unpacking

✅ Change all exterior locks

✅ Test and replace smoke detector batteries

✅ Confirm all utilities are turned on and listed under your name

✅ Schedule cable and internet installation

✅ Update your address on:
